Etched onto the back of a monk, it serves as a sacred shield, symbolizing his journey of faith, discipline, and connection to divine power. Each intricate design carries profound meaning, offering strength and guiding his spiritual path.

“Ale” is a freelance photographer specializing in reportage and humanitarian photography, documenting non-profits through his photography and videography. With years of experience as a photography and filmmaking workshop host, he has led adventures worldwide, including India, Vietnam, Morocco, Myanmar, and Cambodia. Ale teaches a wide range of topics, from time-lapse and iPhoneography to infrared photography and post-production, as well as traditional still photography. Passionate about capturing traditional culture and architecture in natural light, he has lived in Siem Reap since 2008 with his wife and two sons.
