Rainy Day, Dream Away
Rainy Day, Dream Away by Rémi Abad, 2021
Angkor Wat. Rainy season. A few drops of rain quickly turn into a downpour. I took shelter under the main entrance, a bit thrilling because of my wet clothes. Then, like a living dream, this woman appeared out of nowhere, waving her umbrella. I caught a picture and a fever on this unforgettable day.
Hunting for the perfect shot, documenting daily life, and always focusing on people have guided Rémi’s photography since he first picked up a Nikon Fm decades ago. Starting with analog photography taught him the fundamentals, and his passion only grew with the digital era. Since then, Rémi has traveled through Europe and Asia, always seeking new images. His goal has always been to document humanity without judgment, embracing a “humanist photography” approach. Now settled in Cambodia since 2013, Rémi works as a journalist and captures countless photos of this beloved country.
